Transition, 2017
An obsession with materials in flux, these glass sculptures play with the properties of fused & cast glass to create dynamic and unctuous forms.
The idea of drawing with wire prompted this range of small sculptural pieces. Drawing and sculpting free forms with steel wire and mesh gave structure to the molten kiln-fired glass. An interest in the behaviour of materials in their 'in-between' states prompted this experimentation with firing times, temperature and form allows me to suspend the work at a moment in time - in transition.
